Special Live Demonstration Session
In order to vividly animate state-of the-art in the most
exciting and emerging areas of research work within the broad areas of circuits
and systems, the ISCAS 2009 technical program will innovatively incorporate a
new special session for live demonstration. Prospective demonstrations could be
either on work that has already been published or on research that is
anticipated to be published concurrently in ISCAS this year.
Proposals on published work should submit a one page
description on the potential demonstration in PDF-file format. Submissions with
anticipated simultaneous publication in ISCAS 2009 are kindly required to
include a 5-page PDF-file consisting of one page description on the
demonstration together with the full 4-page paper for regular technical tracks.
The one page demonstration description in both afore mentioned categories should
contain information as stipulated:
1. ISCAS track selection: Please indicate one of the regular ISCAS
tracks (see general call for papers for a list) to which your work belongs to.
2. Demonstration setup: Kindly describe the equipment that you
will bring to ISCAS. Note that the organizers will only provide a power plug and
a table and hence your demonstration should be self-sufficient. Potential
authors performing the demonstrations are responsible for the transportation of
their own equipment to the meeting site. Please kindly indicate any special
requirements such as for example extra space for demonstrating robotic movement
within a larger or other requirements that the organizers should be aware of.
3. Demonstration experiencing: Explain the way in which a visitor
experiences or interacts with your demonstration, how the demonstration reveals
the essence of your work and hence helps in further understanding, and also what
the visitor will learn after the demonstration.
4. References (only for the option of both demonstration and paper
publication): Please include one or more citations referring to the subject of
your presentation.
Proposals are due on or before 10 October 2008 and should be
sent via e-mail in PDF format to the Special Live Demonstration session chairs,
Philipp Hafliger (hafliger@ifi.uio.no),
Gwo Giun (Chris) Lee (clee@mail.ncku.edu.tw),
and Shao-Yi Chien (sychien@cc.ee.ntu.edu.tw).
Proposals will be evaluated based on the timeliness of the topic, the
qualifications of the authors, and quality of the proposed demonstration.
Notification of acceptance will be sent to the organizers by
9 January 2009. The full 4-page paper accompanying the demonstration will also
undergo peer review in the corresponding track selected by the potential author.
It is possible that both the submitted demonstration and the full paper will be
accepted or either the demonstration or paper can be accepted independently of
the other submission
