Arrival

 

There are two convenient routes from abroad to get to Taipei (either Taipei or Kaohsiung).

 

n   The more direct way is to fly into Taipei International Airport (also known as Taoyuan International Airport) and then take a shuttle bus to Taipei Main Station. It will take approximately 50-60 minutes, and the fare is NT$125 (adult) or NT$65 (child).

 

n   The other way is to fly into Kaohsiung International Airport and take a domestic flight or Taiwan High Speed Rail to Taipei.

Congress Venue

 

The Congress will be held at the National Taiwan University Hospital (NTUH) International Convention Center, Taipei, Taiwan. Detailed floor maps will be displayed near the conference rooms at the Congress venues. There will be special FAOPS 2011 flags placed in front of the venue for identification.

 

Registration

 

Online registration is available at the 7th FAOPS Congress website. Please note that presenting authors must register on-line before the deadline (April 19, 2011) of abstract submission. The opening hours of the Registration Desks are:

 

September 11 (Sunday):                                from 13:00 to 20:00

September 12-13 (Monday-Tuesday):           from 07:30 to 20:00

        September 14 (Wednesday):                         No registration.

 

 

Language

 

The official language is English. There is no translation serviced provided in the congress.

 

 

Participant Identification

 

At the Registration Desk, participants will each receive the Name badge and Proceedings. The Congress badge is required for admission to all scientific sessions and meal services. All Congress staffs wear blue badges for easy identification.

 

 

Service Desk

 

During the Congress, an Information Desk operates at the entrance to the Congress venue from 7:00 to 19:00 hrs. For all inquiries please contact this Desk. At this Desk there will be a message board and an area displaying updated Congress pictures. Electronic pictures will be available for download on the FAOPS website after the meeting.

 

Internet Service

 

Free wireless connection is available at the conference venue. 4 computers are also available for Internet use in Room 201. For details and additional help please contact the Information Desk.

 

Currency Exchange

 

The currency in Taiwan is the New Taiwan Dollar (NTD) (for details please see http://eng.taiwan.net.tw/m1.aspx?sNo=0002065). NTD can be exchanged at the international airports of Taiwan or at major hotels. For updated exchange rates, please see http://finance.yahoo.com/currency.

 

Smoking

 

Smoking is prohibited inside the Congress venue. Smoking may be allowed in outdoor areas (please ask Information Desk for assistance).

 

 

Insurance

 

Please kindly check the validity of your personal and medical insurance. The Congress organizers will not accept liability for personal injuries or loss or damage of property belonging to the Congress participants. Group insurance is included in the charges for congress tours.
