Dear Invited Speakers, Distinguished Guests, and All Participants:
On behalf of National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), we are very pleased to welcome you all to Tainan, Taiwan, for the Eighth Emerging Information and Technology Conference (EITC 2008).
EITC(http://www.eitc.org) was initiated in Princeton, New Jersey in 2001 by a group of enthusiastic scholars from Taiwan in an effort to promote collaboration and collective contributions to the scientific and technological development in Taiwan. In the past years, EITC was held in Princeton, New Jersey, Dallas, Texas, and Taipei, Taiwan. This year, we are so glad that worldwide leading scientists and technologists specializing in emerging biomedicine, energy, micro-nanotechnology, and system on chip (SoC) from US, Canada, Australia, Japan and Taiwan gather at NCKU to present and share with each other scientific findings and valuable experiences. With sincere and active interactions, we believe that on-going productive collaboration can be further enhanced and new collaborative teams on subjects of common interest can be initiated.
The technical program for EITC 2008 is excellent thanking to contributions by so many distinguished speakers. We are also very pleased that 2005 Nobel laureate in chemistry, Professor Robert Grubbs of California Institute of Technology, Academician Chun-Yen Chang, who was just nominated to be the next Minister of the Examination Yuan, Taiwan, and many good friends can gather under one roof at NCKU to share this exciting and inspiring moment.
The enthusiastic and hardworking organizing team for EITC 2008 would like to thank all of you for attending EITC 2008. It is your active participation in the conference and your high quality interactions with each other and the speakers that make EITC 2008 an excellent conference! We hope that you will find EITC 2008, your visit of NCKU, and your stay in Tainan, Taiwan very enjoyable and fruitful.
